2014 Playoffs ST. Louis Blues vs Chicago Blackhawks

I thought, like may others, this series would be the best of the 1st round match-ups and so far everyone who said that is right, the Blues won the 1st two game scoring late to tie and in overtime in each and then Chicago won 1-0 in game 3 at home. Personally I have a rooting interest for the Blues because I would like to see Ryan Miller win and it would impact the Sabres draft pool but with the Blues ending their regular season so terribly I picked Chicago to win the series in 7. After 3 games it has been a hard fought series with both teams having their peaks and valleys through the series thus far, it's still a tough series to predict a winner.

Old Time goalies by John Dykes

John submitted some of his paintings of some old time goalies. These are some really nice paintings that capture the feel of the goalies in this era, here are Doug Grant of the St. Louis Blues, Mike Palmateer and Gord McRae of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Jim Rutherford of the Detroit Red Wings.

2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs: ST. Louis Blues vs LA KINGS

This has been one of the most physical and close scoring series' of the opening round, it's a shame they met in the 1st round as I could see either of these teams winding up in the Western Conference Final. I did think the Blues were going to go far this year but it just didn't work out for them getting a match up with the Kings. Tonight they fell to them in game 6 with every game being a 1 goal game in the series.  The Kings now move on to round 2 to join the Sharks and Blackhawks as the Redwings and Ducks are headed to game 7. The west is going to be difficult to pick as the remaining teams have all looked really good and wouldn't be surprised the West handles the East quite handily in the final this year. The Kings looked like the kings of last year and Jonathan Quick looks to be a great playoff performer and one of my favorite goalies to watch play, question will be if they can score enough now to push through to the Cup.

2012 Playoffs Blues Vs. Sharks

Last night the St. Louis Blues eliminated the San Jose Sharks 4 games to 1. Most games in this series were close but the big guns on thee Sharks were unable to solve the Blues tight defensive play and great  goaltending. Looks like some big changes will need to be made for the Sharks for next year, they can't shouldn't blame Nemi for the loss, as he was inconstant during the season he was solid in the playoffs. The St. Louis Blues have been on quite the roll since changing coaches and are now challenging for top spot in the west, and what looked to be an tense game (through highlights) tonight with a 1-0 win over the Dallas Stars. So Jason Sulier sent in this sketch of David Perron.

Mini Goalie Mask: ST. Louis Blues

I remember collecting those mini goalie mask key chains but didn't care for just the team logo printed on the top so I got inspired to paint a design based on the team logo on each mask. no these are from years ago (early 2000's I think) so some logos will be outdated but i think some of them are pretty cool.
